English Calligraphy Competition (Std Nur. to III)202

GGPS CHAS (8-04-2023): “Calligraphy is a kind of music not for the ears, but for the eyes”. Calligraphy is the art of writing beautifully in an artistic, styled, and elegant form. So, it is rightly said that our handwriting reflects our personality. It also contributes to reading fluently as it activates the visual perception of letters. A good handwriting is a mirror of knowledge. To improve presentation skills and to inculcate the habit of good handwriting among students an Intra Class English Calligraphy Competition was conducted at GGPS Chas for classes Nursery to III. All the students participated with extraordinary zeal and enthusiasm. The teachers gave the content to be written. The assessment was done by the teachers on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, and beautification.The principal, Mr Abhishek Kumar congratulated the winners. He stated that this era of smart gadgets and keyboard proficiency has given rise to “handwriting crisis”among today’s generation. The Calligraphy Competition provided students with an opportunity to display their competency of writing legibly and neatly. The response of the students was very encouraging. The students put their best foot forward to enhance their writing skills. The response of the students was very encouraging. Such competitions turn out to be very meaningful for the students as Calligraphy not only improve writing skills but also teach students about their unique structure and beauty of the language. The outstanding pieces were ranked and their position is attached herewith-

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

INVESTITURE CEREMONY HELD AT GGPS CHAS : With great zest and pomp the newly appointed members of the school students' council for the session 2023-24 took charge on Wednesday, 12th July 2023 in Investiture Ceremony held at GGPS Chas at its Baba Deep Singh Auditorium. The School Band in its complete decor welcomed the chief guest of the event, President of GGES, Mr. Tarsem Singh, Secretary, GGES, Mr. S.P Singh, Principal, Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Vice-Principal, Mr. C.P Singh, teachers, parents and students present in the auditorium. As the members of the new Students' council, Rishu Kumar of class XII/C took the oath of the (Head Boy), Khushboo Kumari of class XII/B, (Head Girl), Prem Kumar of class XI/B, (Vice Head Boy), Sita Kumari of class XI/A, (Vice Head Girl), Aditi , class XII/B,(Cultural Secretary), Somnath Jha, class XI/B, (Cultural Secretary), Anjali Kumari, class XII/B, ( Literary Secretary), Ankita, class XI/C, (Literary Secretary), Harkirat Singh, class IX/A, (Literary Secretary), Tejaswi, class XII/C, (Sports Captain), Isha Fatma, class XI/A, ( Sports Captain) and Akashdeep, class XII/C, ( Sports Captain) Antra Sharma, class XII/B, (House Captain - Pawan House), Asim Akhtar, class XI/B, (Vice -Captain, Pawan House), Sanket Singh Deo, class XII/C, (House Captain - Pani House), Rounak Kumar, XI/B,(Vice -Captain, Pani House), Rudra Nayak, class XII/A, ( House Captain - Dhart House), Sakshi Singh, class XI/B , (Vice -Captain, Dhart House), Sourabh Singh, class XII/B, ( House Captain -Akash House) and Saranpreet Kaur, class XI/C, ( Vice -Captain, Akash House). All the new council members were awarded with badges and the House flags were given over to the new captains.
